Admission Packet – This type of packet is what players in a game of bingo served up in a land based establishment such as a casino or a bingo hall will get when they start. They purchase this packet in order to play the game and with it they normally get between three and six cards, but often there are also additional cards included for special forms of the game.
After Game – After a typical session of bingo, this is the game that is played as a finale.
Ball Lifter – In a bingo ball machine, this is the part that will raise the ball up into the shooting area that it will be launched from.
Ball Runway – This is a runway where the ball will be rocketed through as it enters the bingo machine.
Bingo Board – On a machine that displays the latest numbers players need to check off to get closer to bingo, this is the display area where the numbers will show up. There are both digital and analog versions in land based game parlors.
Blower – By using a forced air system, the bingo ball machine makes use of a blower that lifts the balls up into the cage area where they will bounce around until they are chosen for play.
Caller – This person is the one who calls out the numbers on the balls as they are selected from the machine.
Cash-In-Prize – Whenever a bingo game has a cash prize and all the participants have paid in towards that, this is the term used for the money that is won.
Casino Night – This is a special event that is sometimes called Vegas Night and during it, bingo players will generally get together during the evening hours and often play a session that lasts until midnight. There are generally other games offered in the parlor during this time such as blackjack or poker to add to the fun.
Face – This is the actual sheet used in a bingo game that has the 24 numbers spaces and the free space situated in the center of the card.
Flimsy – This term originates from the fact that there are certain bingo cards which are printed on very thin pieces of paper that are described as being flimsy. There are different formats that come in sets of cards numbered either 1, 2, 4, 6 or 9. These cards only cost a small amount, but when used during a special type of game they will earn extra if a bingo is called using them.
Hardway Bingo – This is a type of bingo that is played by forming straight lines without the use of free spaces.
Jackpot – This prize is made up of percentages of the prices of the game that are collected from each of the players in a game of bingo. It is compiled to give players a larger chance to win and encourage greater participation.
Money Ball – Bingo games are played using numbered balls and in some games, this type of ball is used in a unique color to indicate that if bingo is hit when this ball is pulled, the player wins a bonus.
Pattern – This is the over all shape that must be formed if players are going to win a bingo. It can be a very simple or quite complex and will be dependent upon the rules of that particular game.
RNG – This abbreviation means Random Number Generator and it can be a machine or a piece of software code used in online bingo. The machines are used in land based bingo settings where they are usually rare. The purpose is to randomize the numbers selected so that the bingo games remains fair.
